How it works

How Quikin works, step by step.

Pick your guide below. Customers can see how to order, pay and use tickets. Venues can see everything from signing up to running service and getting paid.

For customers

Order, pay and enjoy with Quikin.

Everything you can do in the Quikin app, step by step: signing up, topping up your wallet, ordering at your table or for delivery, tracking your order, buying event tickets and sending a ticket to a friend.

Get the app and sign in

Download Quikin, sign in with a couple of taps and set up your profile.

  1. Download the app

Quikin is free on the App Store and Google Play. Open the app and tap “GET STARTED”.

  2. Choose how to sign in

Pick “Continue with Google”, “Continue with Apple” (on iPhone) or “Continue with Email”. There is no password to remember. With email, we send you a login link: tap it on your phone and the app signs you in by itself.

Tip Your account is created the first time you sign in, so signing up and signing in are the same thing.

  3. Verify your email and phone

If your email address still needs confirming, the app asks you to verify it before you carry on. If you have saved a phone number, you confirm it with a 6 digit code we send by SMS.

  4. Allow location and notifications

Tap “Enable Location Access” so Quikin can show venues near you, or “Skip for now”. Allow notifications too, so your phone tells you the moment your order is ready.

  5. Add your name

Open Profile and tap Edit. Add your first and last name as they appear on your ID, and your date of birth. You need a name before you can order, and a phone number before you can order delivery.

Good to know The first time you use the app, short hints point out the QR button, the map, your wallet and other key buttons.

Your wallet: how paying works

Every order and event ticket on Quikin is paid from your Quikin wallet. Top it up, then pay with a tap.

  1. One balance for every venue

Your Quikin wallet works like a prepaid card for all Quikin venues. You add money to it, and your orders and tickets are paid from your balance. Your balance is always shown at the top of the app.

  2. Top up

Tap your balance to open the wallet. Type an amount (the minimum is £1) or use the quick buttons +5, +10, +20 and +50, then tap “Add to Wallet” and choose how to pay:

    • “Card Payment” opens a secure Stripe payment page.
    • “Pay by Bank” lets you approve the payment in your banking app.
  3. Short on balance? We work out the gap

If your balance is too low when you place an order or buy a ticket, the wallet opens with the missing amount already filled in, marked “Suggested amount based on your bill”. Top up and carry on where you left off.

  4. See your top ups

Tap the clock icon at the top right of the wallet to open your “Top-up History”, with every top up and its date.

Good to know If a venue can’t accept your order, or refunds part of it, the money goes straight back into your Quikin wallet, ready for next time.

Find a venue and browse the menu

Find venues near you, look through their menus and build your order.

  1. Discover venues near you

The Discover tab lists venues around you. Use the switch at the top to choose “Dine-In”, “Delivery” or “Takeaway”, and the list shows venues that offer it. Tap the address in the top bar to change your location.

Good to know The order types you can choose depend on your country and on what each venue offers.

  2. Search or use the map

Scroll down on Discover and the “Search venues or food...” bar appears, so you can look up a venue or a dish. Prefer a map? The Map tab shows venues as pins: tap one to open the venue.

  3. Open a venue

The venue page shows photos, the rating, “About” details and “Open in maps”. If the venue has added its WiFi, a button connects you in one tap. Venues with upcoming events show “View Events”, and venues with a loyalty programme show your points card.

Good to know When a venue is closed you can still look through the menu, but you can’t order until it opens.

  4. Browse the menu

Jump between categories, or narrow things down with the chips: Food, Drinks, Veg, Non-Veg, Alcohol and Non-alcohol. Use “Search for a dish” to find something specific.

  5. Spot the offers

Dishes on offer show a ribbon such as “15% off” and the lower price. Some offers apply automatically when you add the dish, like Burger Tuesday at The Copperline. During a happy hour, you see the old price crossed out next to the new one.

  6. Choose your options and add to your order

Tap a dish to see its ingredients, allergens and options. Required choices are marked, and some choices open more options: choose Sweet potato fries as your side and you can then pick a dip. Tap “Add item” when you’re happy.

Tip Ordered this dish before? The app offers “Repeat last used customization?” so you can add it again in one tap.

Dine-in, takeaway or delivery

Choose how you get your order. Dine-in works three ways, depending on what you scan.

Watch the video tutorial
  1. Dine-in at your table: scan the table QR

Tap the QR button in the middle of the bottom bar and scan the code on your table. The venue’s menu opens linked to your table, and a server brings your order over when it’s ready.

  2. Dine-in at a collection point

Some venues put a QR code at the bar or a collection point instead of on the tables. Scan it and order. When your order is ready, the app tells you where to pick it up, for example “Collect from: Main Bar”.

  3. Dine-in without scanning

Choose “Dine-In” on Discover, pick the venue and order. When your order is ready, collect it from the designated collection point by showing your pickup QR code.

  4. Takeaway

Choose “Takeaway”, order ahead and pick it up. After you order, the app shows the venue on a map with a “Navigate” button, and your pickup QR is waiting when the order is ready.

  5. Delivery

Choose “Delivery” and pick one of your saved addresses. You only see venues that deliver to that address. Each venue sets its own delivery fee:

    • a flat fee, a fee based on distance, or a fee by zone
    • free delivery above a set amount: the app shows “Add £X more for FREE delivery” when you’re close

Good to know You need a phone number on your profile for delivery, so the driver can reach you. Manage your addresses in Profile under “Your Addresses”.

Checkout

Check your cart, add a coupon or a note, and place your order.

  1. Review your cart

Open your cart to change quantities, or tap “Edit add-ons” to change your choices. You see the subtotal, service charge, delivery fee and any discount. “You might also like” suggests extras from the same venue.

  2. Place your order

Tap to place your order. The confirmation shows every fee, the coupons you can use, and a notes box for cooking notes, allergies or delivery instructions such as a gate code.

  3. Use a coupon

Pick one of the coupons on offer, or type a code such as WELCOME10. We check the code and show your discount before you pay.

  4. Paid from your wallet

Your order is paid from your wallet balance. If there isn’t enough, the wallet opens with the missing amount filled in.

  5. Ordering alcohol

If your order includes alcohol, you need a verified ID (see “Verify your ID” below). If you’re under the venue’s age limit, alcohol can’t be ordered.

Good to know If a price or an item changed since you added it, the app shows you what changed and asks before removing anything from your cart.

Track your order

Follow your order live from the moment you place it until it’s in your hands.

  1. Follow it live

Your active orders float at the bottom of Discover. Tap one to watch its status change in real time:

    • Order placed: the venue has your order.
    • Being prepared: the venue accepted it and is making it.
    • Ready: your order is ready, and the app plays a sound.
    • Delivered: your order has been handed to you.
    • Completed: all done.

Tip We also send a notification at each step. Tap it to open your order.

  2. Show your QR to collect

When you collect your order, or when a server or driver hands it over, show the QR on your order screen. Staff scan it, or type the 4 digit code underneath, to confirm you have it.

  3. Track your delivery

If the venue’s own driver is bringing your order, you see them on a live map and can tap “Chat with Driver” to message them. If the venue sends a Stuart courier, you see the courier’s live tracking instead.

  4. If a venue can’t take your order

If the venue turns your order down, you see “Your refund is on its way” and the full amount goes back into your Quikin wallet.

After your order

Rate your visit, thank your server and find past orders.

  1. Rate your order

After your order, we ask you to rate it with stars and an optional comment. If you have a few orders waiting, you can rate them all together.

  2. Tip your server

If a server brought your order to your table, you can thank them. Open the order in Purchase History and tap “Tip Your Server”, then choose £1, £2, £5 or “Custom Amount” and tap “Submit”. The tip is paid from your wallet.

  3. Purchase History

Go to Profile, then Purchase History, to see all your orders. Tap one for its status, date, items, add-ons and total.

Verify your ID

A one time ID check lets you order alcohol and buy tickets for ID only events.

  1. When you need it

You need a verified ID to order alcohol and to buy tickets for events that require ID. Until you verify, Discover shows a “Verify your ID” banner.

  2. Before you start

Make sure your profile has your full name as it appears on your ID, and a verified phone number. The app asks for both if they’re missing.

  3. Scan your ID

Follow the steps in the app to photograph your ID and take a quick selfie. Once you’re approved, you never need to do it again.

Good to know ID verification only works in the Quikin app, not on the website.

Events and tickets

Find events, buy tickets in the app and get in with your ticket QR.

  1. Browse events

The Events tab shows events near you, or you can filter by country. Events you already have tickets for are listed first. Tap “Purchase Ticket” to buy one, or “Get Entry” to open a ticket you already hold.

  2. Open an event

The event page shows photos, dates, prices and the venue with a link to maps. Tap “Share Event” to send friends a link or a QR code.

  3. Choose your ticket

Depending on the event, you see one of these:

    • a single price
    • “Select Price Tier” to pick one tier, such as Early bird £8 or Standard £12. Tiers that have sold out show “Sold Out”.
    • “Choose your options” to pick several options at once. You can add more options later, and the ones you have show “Already purchased”.

Tip Some events apply a discount automatically. You can also pick a coupon or type a code before you pay.

  4. Pay for your ticket

Tickets are paid from your wallet. If your balance is too low, the button changes to “Top Up”. Some events, like Saturday Late DJ Set, need a verified ID, and the app asks you to verify before you can buy.

  5. Your ticket

Once you’ve bought it, your ticket opens with its QR code and “Entry Code”. Show it to the venue’s security at the door: the moment they scan it, your screen changes to “SCANNED”. For events where you pick several options, each option also shows whether it’s “Valid now”, “Used”, “Expired” or “Not yet”.

Good to know You can hold one ticket per event.

Send a ticket to a friend

Can’t make it, or bought for a friend? Send your ticket to someone else in a few taps.

  1. Find your ticket

Go to Profile, then “My Tickets”, and open the ticket you want to send.

  2. Send it

Tap “Send this ticket” and type your friend’s phone number or email in “Their phone or email”. It must match their Quikin account exactly. Tap “Send ticket”, then confirm. Prefer a link? Tap “Create and share link” and send it any way you like.

  3. While it’s pending

Your ticket shows “Transfer pending” and its QR is on hold while your friend decides. Tap it to see who it’s waiting for and when the offer expires. Changed your mind? Tap “Cancel transfer” to get it back.

  4. Your friend accepts

When your friend opens Quikin they see “A ticket is waiting for you”, and can tap “Accept ticket”, “Decline” or “Decide later”. If you sent a link, they tap “Claim this ticket”. Once they accept, the ticket moves to their account with a brand new QR code, and your old QR stops working.

  5. Transfer rules

A few rules keep transfers fair:

    • The event must allow transfers.
    • Transfers close at the organiser’s cutoff, or when the event starts.
    • The ticket must not have been scanned.
    • An event can limit how many times a ticket is transferred.
    • An offer expires after 48 hours if it isn’t accepted.
    • Your friend can’t already have a ticket for the same event.
    • If the event requires ID, your friend needs a verified ID too.

Loyalty rewards

Collect points at venues with a loyalty programme and swap them for rewards.

  1. Earn points

At venues with a loyalty programme, the venue page shows your points, how you earn them and how many more you need for your next reward. At The Copperline, you earn 1 point for every £1 you spend.

  2. Redeem a reward

Tap “Rewards” to see what you can get, such as a free Lemonade for 10 points. To redeem one, have an open cart at the venue and tap “Redeem”. The reward is added to your cart and your points are used when you place the order.

  3. Points history

“History” shows the points you’ve earned, redeemed and any that have expired.

Your profile and more

Your entry QR, addresses, tickets, settings and help, all in one place.

  1. My Profile QR

Some venues check guests at the door. Tap the QR icon to open your personal QR and show it to venue security for quick entry.

  2. Your profile

Profile is where you edit your details, manage “Your Addresses”, see Purchase History and My Tickets, get “Help & Support” and log out.

  3. More you can do

A few more things worth knowing:

    • Switch between light and dark mode with the toggle on Discover.
    • Know a venue that should be on Quikin? Tell us with “Add your favourite Venue to Quikin”.
    • If you also run a venue, “Switch to Business Dashboard” takes you to your venue tools.
    • You can delete your account from Profile at any time.
